DUBISMS

Well folks, it is time to reach not so deep into my brain and come up with nonsensical ramblings. Not that I am not going to make any sense, but that I want to talk about things that do not make sense to me. Make sense? Nice. So what will I complain about or reflect on?

You guessed it,

Frank Stalone.

Just kidding, it's...................................

TREES. Now, it's a love hate relationship. I like the shade, but I hate the sap. I like the colors but I hate raking the leaves. I have over 75 trees at my house. When you drive down 295 South and pass the 70 West exit, look at the trees sticking over the sound wall. That's my house. The soundwalls are only like 20-30 feet above the ground on my property. I have to clean the gutters every week, branches (huge ones) are falling dangerously close to my house. My electric line is threatened by gigantic branches. My sewer line was snapped in half from roots. I spent most of my time digging out the pipe going through the roots. Yet, as I dig or as I sit in the house in these scorching months of summer, I am cooled by their shade. I feel almost like I am more in nature despite the fact that 295 is right behind me. The air, I can only imagine, might actually be a little better due to the abundance of plants. However, I don't have grass because of the shade. It is all moss. I don't need a lawn mower, but moss sucks. The devil on my shoulder wants me to cut them down, but the environmental angel wants me to keep them up. There are cool animals in the trees, but they may run into my house. Should I leave the trees and set up traps for the animals? Should I cut down the trees and watch the animals plummet to a demise? Such is the simple struggle in my life.
